DACcord
The DACcord project aims to introduce the Digital Automatic Coupler to trains across Europe through collaboration with the European Rail Freight Sector and manufacturers.
The DACcord project provides management support to Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking (EU-Rail) for the continued professional management of the European DAC Delivery Programme (EDDP). This program, supported by EU-Rail, aims to introduce the Digital Automatic Coupler (DAC) to trains across Europe through collaboration with the European Rail Freight Sector and manufacturers. The project started in April 2023 and is expected to end in March 2026, and has a total funding of 1 499 829.1 Euro.
DACcord works closely with the EDDP to plan the migration and deployment of DAC technology from 2023 onwards. It collaborates with EDDP members and stakeholders to create a task list for the actions outlined by the EDDP.
Daccord supports the outroll of DAC
Stakeholders need to communicate proactively to address implementation and financial challenges before the DAC technology is fully developed. Agreement and alignment on DAC introduction are essential, especially to secure funding for this sector-wide transformation.
